Bali, 15 December 2019 – On Sunday 15th December 2019, Archipelago International, a leading Indonesia-based hospitality management company, held its first ever Sports Day and CSR event at the Bajra Sandhi Monument in Denpasar, Bali. More than 200 Archipelago International representatives from 15 Bali-based hotels joined the Sports Day event, including: Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center, Hotel NEO Denpasar, Quest Hotel San Denpasar, Aston Kuta Hotel & Residence, favehotel Kuta Kartika Plaza, favehotel Kuta Square, Harper Kuta, Hotel NEO+ Kuta Legian, Hotel NEO Kuta Jelantik, Quest Hotel Kuta, favehotel Sunset Seminyak, Kamuela Villas Seminyak, Kamuela Villas & Suites Sanur, Royal Kamuela at Monkey Forest, Ubud and Aston Canggu Beach Resort.

The Sports Day event was held at the Bajra Sandhi Monument, the biggest monument in Bali that’s frequented every Sunday for Bali’s “Car Free Day” activities. During the Sports Day event, Archipelago International invited its hotel teams to enjoy the morning’s ambiance by taking a leisurely walk around the Bajra Sandhi Monument. As an introduction to Archipelago International’s green initiatives, the teams also took part in a clean-up at the monument, using non-plastic materials such as sacks and cardboard to collect trash in the Bajra Sandhi area.

"This is the first activity we’ve held at Bajra Sandhi Monument. Both our hotel staff and our corporate teams were very enthusiastic to participate in this event, which was part of our ongoing initiative to promote healthy living and also to introduce an environmentally-friendly lifestyle for our teams and our guests. We invited all Sports Day participants to clean up the area around Bajra Sandhi, continuing our green initiatives within the hotels, which involves replacing plastic drinking bottles in the rooms with water jugs and dispensers, as well as encouraging cleaner, greener lifestyles for our employees too." said Winston Hanes, VP of Operations from Archipelago International.
